The Accounting Clerk provides administrative support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform data entry of invoices into Accpac (Sage) Accounting system on a regular basis
Pull and match invoices to purchase order / weekly payment run
Use of Microsoft Excel to consolidate vendor invoices for entry
Maintain /file documents and records
Reconcile vendor statements on a monthly basis and highlight any discrepancies for further action
Maintain / process change requests to vendor master
Assisting in Audit tasks and process as directed by B.U. Controller
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
Provide ad hoc administrative support to Accounts Receivable or other departments as required / time permits
Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and applications is an asset
Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office
Strong judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential information and monetary transactions
Ability to meet set deadlines
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sedentary physical demand level
Light strength – occasional lifting of up to 10kg
Hand and finger dexterity required
Occasional standing and walking about the office required
Limited bending, light lifting, stretching, twisting, or climbing required
